Bush Celtic 4 Moone Celtic 3 28/3/10
Fleming park hosted these two local teams on a beautiful morning. Bush meant business from the start and quickly attacked. They scored first forcing Moone to raise the tempo. Some determined Moone attacking resulted with a loose ball in the goal mouth which fell to Andrew McGinley who coolly slotted home for Moone's first today and his first of the season. Shortly after this Moone were again rewarded when an in swinging cross was not cleared effectively and Andrew again reacted quickly with a left foot toe poke to guide the ball into the net. No goals all season and now he was looking for a hat trick! His celebration cart wheel was worthy of the Premiership.
Bush retaliated in the 3rd quarter with one excellent long range strike that was unstoppable and another hard won scrappy goal that set them up with a two goal lead going in to the final period. Moone were confident of retaliating and they played with patience and discipline seldom loosing their shape. Felix Lawlor, playing as left back, made fantastic clearing passes down the left wing to set up Adam Griffith, Jack Fleming and Craig O'Brien. The tactic worked and Adam cut inside to set himself up for a great right foot shot to score. Moone were now only one behind and were piling on the pressure. Unfortunately time ran out before they could get the goal that was surly coming. A great performance by everyone with good team work and passing. Everyone knew what they were doing and did their job well. But the best for Moone today was Aodhain Cullen, playing right back, who went into every tackle 100% committed. He was fantastic today and no-one got past him.
Moone Celtic Yellow 2 Kilcock 7
For the second week in a row KilcockU8's travelled to Moone in the south of the county this time they were playing Moone Celtic Yellow. A cautious start by both teams with some stout defending early on. Honours even at the end of the first period with both sides feeling their way into the match. Kilcock started to impose themselves on the game in the second quarter with strong showings from the Fogarty's. Dylan was first to strike with Josh following up with a second for the visitors after some lovely football to take the lead 0 - 2. Moone responded in the third quarter with good attacking play resulting in goals from Tom Sheedy and Fionn Bergin. However, Kilcock maintained their composure with two more fine strikes from Dylan Fogarty to lead 2 - 4 going into the final quarter. But for some fantastic defending by Moone center half Jack Rafferty, sweeper Connor Keane, and Oisin Halpin in goals, Kilcock could have been out of sight at this stage. Kilcock's fresh legs really started to tell as the game reached its conclusion in the fourth quarter. Moone pressed hard to get back into the game but were caught on the counter attack by three more goals from Cian O'Sullivan, an O.G., and finally a goal by Adam Thompson to wrap things up. To their, credit Moone never gave up and chased hard all the way to the final whistle. However, Kilcock ran out deserved winners 2 -7 to register their first win of the season. Man of the match has to go to Dylan Fogarty for Kilcock with a hat-trick and some scintillating football to his credit. Conor Keane was best on the day for Moone with some superb tackling and general work rate around the field.
Moone Green 3 v Kilcock 1 21/3/10
Moone welcomed their visitors from the north of the county to Belan Av on a fine spring day. Every thing was set for a great match with large numbers of supporters on both sides. Moone got onto the score sheet first when Adam Griffith's suburb cross, in the fifth minite, was met by Felix Lawlor who hammered it into the net giving the Kilcock keeper no chance. The second goal was almost a carbon copy when Adam's cross was finished off by Felix in the second quarter. Kilcock however always looked dangerous and were able to pull one back when Adam Thompson
finished well. Kilcock continued to push hard, hitting the crossbar twice. Moone could have been in more trouble except for great goalkeeping by Oisin Halpin who kept the hard charging Kilcock at bay. Moone were on the back foot when against the run of play Kilcock were caught out with everyone committed forward. Moones man of the match Craig O'Brien, who had worked hard all day, picked up the loose ball in mid field and took off on a solo run. With only the keeper to beat there was no mistake with his cool finish to give Moone a great win. Strong for Kilcock were Keane O'Sullivan, Martin O'Neill and Christian Connors.
Moone Celtic Yellow 2 v Bush Celtic 5 21/3/10
With their recent 2-2 draw fresh in both teams memory today was all set to be good game. Bush were first off the mark but Moone imediatly retaliated when Fionn Bergin equalised. Finn Kerins was on good form keeping things under control in the Moone defence abilly supported by Tom Sheedy, Moone's best player today. The tight game saw good play from both sides with Bush making full use of their chances when they added another two through good team work lead by Tom Martin and Ciaran Downey. It wasn't long before Moone's pressure forced Bush to conceed an own goal. With the score at 2-3 Moone may have hoped for a way back into the game. But that was the last time Luke Hennessy in the Bush goal would be beaten. Ironically the next score was also an OG this time an unfortunate error from the otherwise solid Jack Raferty in the moone defence. Bush looked comfortable in the final period after Moone tried some position changes.Bush added another just before the final whistle.
Moone Celtic Green 5 v Moone Celtic Yellow 1 14/3/10
Due to an ever growing squad the U8s at Moone have been recently split into two teams and this week the league had us playing ourselves. Moone Celtic Green hosted Moone Celtic Yellow on a beautiful spring day. This eagerly anticipated tie kicked off with Green showing determination from the off. Oisin Halpin in goal for Moone Yellow was forced to make some great early saves to keep the score at nil all. Moone yellow were quickly back into the game and a probing attack found a way through the Green defence and the finishing touch of Tom Sheedy was enough to ensure a 1-0 lead for the end of the first quarter. Moone Green started the second quarter in the same way as the first. Strong attacking on the wings saw great crossing from Felix Lawlor and Adam Grifith. Moone Green's hard work payed off when Jack Fleming found the net with a firmly struck ball to even the score. Finn Kerins was strong in midfield for Moone Yellow setting up many attacks by Fionn Bergin and James Sheedy with Dylan O'Neill giving width on the wing. But with Ross O'Brian and Ciaran O'Sullivan in defence for Moone Green all advances were closed off. It was 1-1 at half time. The change of ends seemed to suit Moone Green best and strong midfield play by Adoin Cullen and Andrew McGinley meant that Moone Yellow were often on the back foot. This resulted in three goals in quick succession from Felix Lawlor and man of the match Jack Fleming(2). The forth quarter saw Yellow again pushing hard but the Green defence was super today and there was no way through. A breakaway attack by Moone Green saw Matthew Gallagher put the icing on the cake with a fantastic fifth goal. Moone Yellow continued to push forward and when Fionn Bergin was fouled in the Green penalty box it looked like they would get one back. Unfortunately the Gods were against him when his strike rattled the upright only to roll away wide. The final score did not reflect the evenly matched ability of these two skilful teams. They should both be proud of their efforts today.

Moone added to their score when Fionn Bergin showed real skill by deftly flicking the ball with the back of his foot to squeeze past the unfortunate Arlington goal keeper.
The score of 3-1 in Moone’s favour at half time did not reflect the effort that Arlington had shown. Often their attackers had managed to power through the Moone defence leaving the outstanding Oisin Halpin in goal, having to commit 100% in one on one situations. Luckily for Moone he was successful every time.
Arlington never looked like giving up and in the third period their persistence paid off when Cormac Maughan scored followed soon after by Jordan Dunne's second.
